CAP Sites: Community Access Program CAP

What is a CAP Site?

The Community Access Program (CAP) is a Government of Canada initiative that aims to provide Canadians with affordable public access to the Internet. Through Industry Canada, CAP has helped many communities set up public computer systems that are connected to the Internet. Many CAP sites have staff available to provide computer support and training.

Who can use CAP Sites?

Anyone! CAP sites were created to help make sure that everyone has access to the "Information Highway" - the Internet. Through community partnerships many rural areas in Nova Scotia have CAP sites for public use. Most CAP sites are free of charge, while some might have a small usage fee.

Is there a CAP site in my community?

CAP By forming partnerships with many community organizations, Industry Canada has supported the development of over 90 CAP Sites in Western NS. Many rural communities now have public access to the Internet.

Click on the link below to download a map that has been provided to help you locate a CAP site in your area. Look for the CAP site sign at schools, in libraries or at other community centers where you live.
